Jason William Walker

Jason Walker passed away peacefully on January 31, 2016, at the age of 35, after a long courageous battle with an aggressive cancer. Jason will be remembered by his mother, Carol Walker-Williams, father, Stanley Walker, sister, Risë Suazo, his cherished niece and nephew, Aryana & Aiden Suazo, a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends, and let us not forget, his beloved dog, Lily.

The true essence of Jason was his fighting spirit. This came to the forefront, when he was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer at the age of 33. The journey was long and hard, but Jason persevered in silence, so as not to worry his family and friends. Many of his endless treatments and doctor visits, Jason went alone, with results that rocked him to his core. He missed out on many things that we take for granted, such as, eating his favorite foods, talking with others, and producing a simple smile. He enjoyed being outdoors, he liked sailing, hiking and mountain bike riding. He was also a huge movie buff, and loved to be one of the first ones to watch the new releases. He was an avid gamer, and would play for hours until he beat the game, it was a sense of accomplishment. Jason’s love of football and basketball, came when his cousin Damion Jackson, introduced him to the world of sports. Let’s just say Jason, “Took the ball and ran with it!”

“Whatever life gives you, even if it hurts you, just be strong and act like you’re okay. Remember: Strong walls shake but never collapse.” This quote exemplified Jason’s fighting spirit through his arduous 2 ½ year journey with cancer.
