Janet Krause, 79, of Plano, entered her Heavenly home on Thursday, September 26, 2024. She was born on September 14, 1945, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, to Jack & Doris (Bentley) Reaves. Janet grew up in a blue-collar family, where she learned the value of hard work and the importance of family. As a child, she learned to cook and sew, two things she enjoyed doing for others throughout her life. Janet was a 1963 graduate of U S Grant High School in Oklahoma City. That same year, she met Jim Krause while visiting her sister at Oklahoma Christian College. It was love at first sight. They soon began dating and she went on to attend Oklahoma Christian College and Oklahoma State University.
On December 31, 1966, Janet and Jim were married. They moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin – for 60 days – before relocating to Dallas, which became their forever home. They completed their family by having a son, Mike, in 1970, and, later, a daughter, Wendy, in 1974. Janet considered it a blessing to be a stay-at-home mom and wife to her family. She was truly an old-fashioned mother, who found joy in running the household and caring for her family. Whether it was supporting her children at soccer games or swim meets or cooking daily meals for her family, she simply enjoyed being together as a family. She loved her family deeply and considered her titles of “wife” and “mom” to be her greatest accomplishment.
Janet enjoying being outdoors and staying active. She loved gardening, running, and playing tennis. Janet was a talented artist, who excelled in painting. She was an active member of Church of Christ in Plano for many years. Her faith in God was strong and unwavering. Her love for the Lord and desire to do His work here on earth was admirable and impactful. Her faith taught her to truly love people, and Janet had a servant’s heart to serve and help others. Her heart was full of acceptance, kindness, and thoughtfulness in everything she did. Janet also had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to laugh. She was beautiful, both inside and out, and will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew her.
Janet is survived by her husband, Jim Krause; son and daughter-in-law, Mike & Stacy Krause of Plano; daughter, Wendy Krause of Plano; brother and sister-in-law, Bob & Sherry Reaves of Spring,Tx; and sister, Shirley Bazay of Frisco.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, October 11, 2024 at 10am at Ted Dickey West Funeral Home, 7990 President George Bush Turnpike, Dallas, Texas 75252.
