Jack was born December 27, 1934, near Meridian, Mississippi. He was the only child of John Stone and Mary Helen Jackson.
Jack attended Meridian High School and excelled at football and tennis. He received a scholarship offer to play football at Ole Miss, but chose to attend Mississippi State University where he threw javelin and pledged Sigma Chi. Jack graduated from MSU in 1957 with a BBA degree in Business and Finance.
Although Jack met Elaine Coker during his senior year of high school, they did not start dating until the summer before his sophomore year and her freshman year of college. After graduating from Mississippi State, Jack married THE love of his life on July 3, 1957.
Life became busy for Jack and Elaine after their wedding. Jack started working, he was called to active duty with the Air Force, they had twin girls, he started his career with Redd Pest Control, and their son was born.
In December 1968, Jack was asked to open a new regional office for Redd in Texas, so he loaded up the family and dogs headed for Richardson, TX. That month his family visited Richardson Heights Baptist Church and made it their church home where he taught Sunday school, served as a deacon, attended Sunday school, played softball and coached women’s softball. Eventually, Jack started his own successful business, Pioneer Pest Control.
Jack loved the Lord and was a faithful and devoted follower of Christ. Integrity was very important to him. People close to him described him as hardworking, loyal, faithful, kind, and having strong morals. He was a caring and compassionate friend and neighbor who was always available to help anyone in need…and did so without seeking recognition.
Quick-witted and extremely funny describe Jack well. He loved hunting, fishing, playing softball, coaching, painting, writing poetry and stories, watching sports and Mississippi State. He also loved his English Pointer hunting dogs. Jack’s favorite pastimes were tinkering in his garage and creatively fixing things. He was a genius at problem solving.
Jack is survived by his faithful bride of 67 years, Elaine Jackson, daughter Deborah Jackson, son Brent Jackson (Kerri), grandchildren - Shanna Snell (Tommy), Brian Stowers, Jeff Jackson (Nichole), Jenifer Wilshire (David), McKenzie Wallace (Garrett), Lexi Jackson, and great grandchildren - Starr, Bailey, Brayden, Jade, Jordan, Joshua, Kira, Elizabeth, Stephen, Danvis, Emerson. He was preceded in death by his parents and his daughter, Donna Stowers.ly.
