Ima Jean Blair, age 77, of Dallas, Texas passed away on Thursday, August 17, 2023.
Ima Jean Blair was born on May 6, 1946 to Sarah Beck and Ellis Beck in Corsicana, Texas. She attended school there until she went to college. She was the first in her family to attend college. She graduated from Paul Quin College with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education. It was her dream to become an educator. She faced many obstacles because of her skin color but she never gave up. She taught in Corsicana for several years before moving to Dallas where she retired after teaching 30 years.
Ima is survived by her daughter Sharon Blair and son W.H. Blair Jr. She has three granddaughters Alexis Blair, Hazel Blair and Journee Blair. She has one great granddaughter Torrie Blair. She has three surviving sisters and two brothers. The siblings are Earlene Davis, Josephine Jones, Mary Brandon, James Beck and David Beck.
