25, 2018. Born the son to Manuel and Herlinda Martinez, “Blue” was the sixth son of eight
brothers and one sister and was the sole surviving sibling.
Henry attended Cumberland Hill Elementary and married his childhood sweetheart and love of
his life of 66 years, Maria De La Luz Lopez in 1952. In his early years, he began employment at
The Great Atlantic Pacific Tea Co. He later took his self-taught hobby in carpentry and turned it
into a full-time business Blu-Mar Contractors.
Henry, a devoted and loving husband, took the greatest pleasure in being arm-in-arm with his
wife on the dance floor. As a committed father, he enjoyed spending family time with his sons
and daughters, nephews, nieces and grandchildren. He was a member of the Knights of
Columbus. A good western movie really put a smile on his face.
Henry is survived by his wife Lucy and his children Teresa Ann, Joseph Henry (Ydalia), Salvador
(Anna), Rosario (Bernard), and Trini (Lori). His grandchildren Joseph Edward (Lisa), Celina
(Stefan), Salvador, Anastasia, Dominick, Alexandra, Michael Anthony, Trini, Desi, Lola Rose.
Great grandchildren Eleanor, Julian “Blue”. Brothers-in-law Trini Lopez, Jesse Lopez. Sistersin-
law Elizabeth “Chavela” Martinez, Delores Martinez and numerous nephews and nieces
whom he loved very much.
“O Lord, I give my life to you. I trust in you, My God!”
