For I am certain that nothing can separate us from his love; neither death nor life, neither angels nor heavenly rulers or powers, neither the present nor the future, neither the world above nor the world below— there is nothing in all creation that will ever be able to separate us from the love of God which is ours through Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:38-39 If there was ever a woman that lived “Love and Happiness” it was Helen Ray King. Born in Dallas, Texas Helen was the first-born child to Eva Lynn Jefferson and Robert Ray Jefferson. Their baby girl loved to sing and aspired to be a famous opera singer. Her first love, however was family, so she grew to be a majestic home-maker even before she met her mate for life, Roy King Sr. Roy and Helen grew in maturity and adoration for one another in Dallas, Texas. They loved and protected two beautiful children, Najeda King-Jones and Roy King Jr. Love and happiness was their foundations, for she and Roy illustrated to all what these two words really mean. After the passing of her quiet king, she moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico to be with her mother and two sisters. Helen became a soft dove that gentled hardy spirits through constant prayer and a stern voice. Not one to complain, she gave all she could from her heart. She cared for and was companion to momma Eva during her long fight with cancer. When cancer took mommas’ last breath, she was there holding her hand and praying. Through difficult and happy times, Helen communicated daily with her daughters, son, sisters, family and friends. She listened intently with positive and humorously spiritual advice. Her laughter was a delight to hear. It had depth, vibrato, pitch and clarity—one could hear extraordinary life stories just listening to the tones in her voice. She was a lover of Jesus Christ, her family, great food, music and movies. She was a true protector—a Mommy bear to her fullest capabilities. There are many in her brood to protect. One brother, Lewis Huckleby, two brothers-in-law, Phillip Crespin and Lee Garcia, three sisters, Shirley Bell, Carla Jefferson and Helanda Crespin. One daughter-in-law, Bianca King, three grandchildren, Jasmin King, Rodney Jones, Trey Jones, three nieces, four great nieces, two nephews, and two great nephews. Most importantly, our sweet Mother-sister left us before the anticipated birth of her great-grandson Kyrie Lane Jones born February 8th, 2017. God’s greatest gifts are given and returned. For all things belong to him. Still, our eyes are drawn to weeping. Staining our starched shirts and stiff dresses with tears that seem unending. Thinking of things that will never be on this mortal plane. So, we “moan for love”, it keeps fond memories and experiences alive. To family, Friends and others, and to those that knew her well and those that did not. Let us honor Helen’s enchanting spirit today and every day. Let us allow space in our hearts for blessed relief. Helen, our dearest beloved is less for this world, for she is in the presence of her Savior. She glides on legs light and swift as wind, carried into the arms of holiness and family members that transcended before her. They wait no more, she has arrived. The memory of Mommy shall never fade. And when our times comes… “We'll be together We'll see each other Walk away with victory… Because Love is... Walkin' together Talkin' together Singin' together Prayin' together Love is… Love and happiness” --Pastor Al Green
