Our beloved husband, father, and grandfather passed away peacefully at home after a well fought courageous battle with cancer, on March 20, 2017. He was born on November 24, 1943 in Kansas City, Missouri. He graduated from Western State College in Gunnison, Colorado, served three years in the United States Army during the Vietnam conflict, and spent 30 years in the domestic and international oil and gas industry. He was an avid and fierce competitor on the tennis court and golf course, and formed many special friendships through this time. He also enjoyed volunteering for various organizations sharing his handyman skills with those who needed it. He was a go-getter in every aspect of his life and even up until his final days, he made sure everything was taken care of for his family.
He is preceded in death by his father Loyd Todd, mother Eva and sisters Judy Cain, Betty Starr, and Bernice Schuman. We can pretty much bet they have welcomed him with loving arms, country music, and a dance floor.
He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years Karilyn Todd, adoring daughter, Jennifer Barnard (husband Tim Barnard), the apple of his eye granddaughter Anabelle, and blessed to be a "bonus" grandfather to Lauren and Aubrey Barnard. He is also survived by his brother Donald Todd, sisters Evelyn Mountain and Suzi Book and many nieces and nephews all from Missouri.
Because Harold's love language was "acts of kindness," he requested that in lieu of flowers, you do something nice for someone you love. That would make him proud. If you would like to make a donation, please consider LUNGevity Foundation www.lungevity.org
We will miss this wonderful man and know that our lives have been touched by an angel.
