Gary Klimek, aged 79, passed away on July 11, 2024 in Dallas, TX. Born in Alexandria, MN, Gary dedicated over three decades of his life to the Federal Aviation Administration as an air traffic controller, a role in which he notably contributed during the critical hours of September 11, 2001, helping to clear the skies of planes.
A veteran of the U.S. Navy, Gary served as a radio operator for four years following his high school graduation. His military career was marked by diligence and a commitment to excellence, qualities that he carried into his civilian career and personal life.
Gary was deeply rooted in his community and faith, actively participating in the Church of the Resurrection Catholic in Muncy, PA, where he served as lector and engaged in adult education through the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA). His involvement in church activities reflected his dedication to his faith and community.
He was a beloved husband and father, known for his patience, kindness, and thoughtful nature. Gary was a skilled handyman with a sharp wit and a passion for organic gardening and playing Pickleball at the Muncy YMCA.
A funeral mass will be held in his honor on Friday, July 19, 2024, at 10:30am at All Saints Catholic Church, located at 5231 Meadowcreek Dr, Dallas, TX.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be to ALS Texas or Paralyzed Veterans of America in memory of Gary Klimek.
His legacy of service, both in his professional life and personal endeavors, will be remembered by all who knew him.
