Fred Ray Bailey was born January 17, 1935 in Yoakum, Texas to Leroy Bailey and Juanita Stephens Bailey. He had one sibling, Mr. Leroy Bailey. He received Christ and was baptized at Mt. Sinai Baptist Church in Yoakum Tx at a early age. He attended and graduated from Asberry High School in 1952. After graduating he attended Prairie View A&M University in Prairie View, Texas. After college he joined the Marine Corps in 1955. Served several years at Camp Pendleton, California. He later met, and married, Jewel lee Jones. In 1967 , they relocated their family to Dallas, Texas. Mr. Bailey was a professional long distance truck driver for Yellow Freight and later retired from Kraft Foods.
Mr. Bailey lived his life as a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. He was an avid domino player who enjoyed playing with his family and friends. He also loved going back home to attend his Asberry High School reunions.
Mr. Bailey is preceded in death by : his wife Jewel Lee Jones-Bailey; son, Kelo Bailey; parents, Leroy Bailey and Juanita Bailey; brother, Leroy Bailey and niece/daughter Carolyn Bailey
He leaves to cherish and honor his memory: his sons Kelo Bailey and Fred Bailey; daughters Jacqueline Bailey-Smith and Pamela L. Heidleberg; two grandsons, Brandon Depaul Bailey (Danielle) and Corneil Lyndell Bailey; two granddaughters, Bailee Alexis Smith and JaNiyah Jewel Bailey-Walker; two great grandsons, Brandon DePaul Bailey, Jr. and Brayden DeSean Bailey; nieces, Diane Alexander (Fred), Kathy Johnson-Green (Melvin Bo), Charlotte Sue Walters, Janice Sam, Pearl Bailey-Khan (Darcy), Vikki Richardson (Lincoln) and a host of cousins, other relatives and special friends.
