Frances Dorothy Carol Guest Hooper

Auntie was the 10th child born to Clara Elva Ladd and Samuel Jackson Guest.

Auntie was married to George W. Hooper August 11, 1945 in Dallas, Texas and they were together until his demise February 17, 1987.

Later in 1987 she reconnected with Amos Flick and they had many years of fun and traveling from Celestine, Indiana to her home in Mesquite, Texas.

Auntie was preceded in death by her parents: Clara and Samuel Guest; Her siblings: Nora Watson, Jess Guest, Ruben Guest, Gertrude Flick, Belle Simpson, Betty Mae Guest, Jack Guest, Pauline Cawthon, and Woodrow Guest; Husband, George W Hooper; Dear Friend, Amos Flick.

Frances was born in Shamrock, Texas and attended Lela Schools. During the depression times were rough and the entire family packed up and left their farm and moved to San Antonio, Texas where she completed High School. Jobs were hard to find so she moved to Dallas with her sister Pauline to find work. She got a job at North American assembling aircraft parts for planes to be used in World War 2. She later went to work at Titches where she had access to many items that were very hard to get during the depression. She said she could get stockings and certain clothing items that were unavailable. She later went to work for Lone Star Liquor Company, a Wholesale Liquor Distributor as a payroll clerk and accountant. She was proud that she learned how to operate one of the early computers to fill out and print payroll checks. She loved her work and remained working until she retired to take care of George after he had been diagnosed with cancer. After George's passing she reconnected with Amos Flick and they had many years together traveling around the country in their motor home. She always would take her precious tiny Yorkie Tuff with them.

Auntie loved to fish, camp, and enjoyed boating. She also had a “fancy” side and loved to dress up and go to parties and would dance as long as anyone would dance. She was a very giving person and loved nice clothes, shoes and purses. She would often buy in multiples and if anyone would tell her they liked the item she would give it to them or one of the extras she had bought.

One of the best memories of her life is when she won a contest from Town East Mall that included an all expenses paid trip to Oahu, Hawaii staying at the Hilton Hawaiian Village for 10 days, she won a trip in a limousine to a Dallas Cowboys game and sat in the press box and had a meet and greet with the players. She also won a Cowboys starter jacket. Her niece Linda Cawthon went with her to Hawaii and it was a amazing time being greeted with leis at the airport welcome packages with all kinds of Cowboy Memorabilia for the Pro Game. She also got to go to the Pro Ball Game via the bus that took the family of the players. She attended a Luau and loved shopping in Hawaii. She was so excited and had the time of her life.

In her later years she moved in with her niece Linda Cawthon and her children Nathan and Claire Cawthon in a house in the country in Midlothian, Texas. She loved the quietness of the country and loved the time spent with family.

She loved dogs and got a sweet little Puggle Puppy who she loved dearly. She named her Millie after President Bush’s dog Millie. Even after she enter Midlothian Healthcare Nursing Home Millie would come to visit.

Auntie loved fancy new cars and never kept a vehicle over 2 years. She loved Cadillacs and Buicks, and wanted them fully loaded.

Auntie attended church with the family at Trinity United Methodist Church as long as she was able to attend, and attended the church services after she lived in the nursing home. She loved the Lord, and was saved at age 14. Auntie lived a full life, loved adventure and loved her family. She was especially fond of her great, great Niece Jackie (Doodle). When Auntie no longer knew her family she always knew Jackie. Even at the time of her death she was holding Jackie’s hand. She truly waited to see Jackie before the left this world to enter her heavenly home. Auntie will be greatly missed. We love and miss you Auntie.
