Frances "Shorty" Hogue

Myrtle Frances Hogue, 97, of Weatherford, Texas, passed away January 31, 2014 at her residence in Weatherford, Texas

Visitation and Rosary will be held at Sparkman/Crane Funeral Home, 10501 Garland Road, Dallas on Tuesday, February 4, 2014 from 7:00 – 9:00 PM.

Funeral service with Requiem Mass will be held at Calvary Hill Mausoleum North Chapel, 3235 Lombardy Lane, Dallas on Wednesday February 5, at 10:00 AM. There will be a gathering of family and friends after the services.

Shorty was born in Barry, Texas to Forest and Helen Hodkin on November 20, 1916. She went to North Dallas High School in Dallas and graduated in 1934. She had a knack for numbers and spent her career as a bookkeeper with various businesses. In retirement she found peace and serenity with her loving husband A D Hogue in the wonderful community of Weatherford, Texas. After A.D.’s passing in 1997, Shorty spent the remainder of her years enjoying and appreciating the nature that surrounded her with her beloved inside and outside animals.

Shorty is preceded in death by her parents, Forest and Helen and her brother Forest.

Shorty is survived by her sister Patty Bond and many loving family members.

n lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Weatherford/Parker County Animal Shelter, 403 Hickory Lane, Weatherford, TX, 76086.

The family wishes to extend their special gratitude and appreciation to Martha Isbell for her years of faithful service and caregiving to Shorty: to Sister Mildred Gordon for her relationship that helped Shorty maintain her spiritual connection with her Catholic faith and to the Casey family for their generosity and help to Shorty in her final years.
