Visitation with a Rosary will be at Sacred Heart Chapel, 3900 Rowlett Road, Rowlett, Texas, June 25th at 4:30 - 6:30 pm. Rosary will be recited at 5:30 pm.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12 pm Wednesday, June 26th at Calvary Hill North Chapel in Main Mausoleum with Rev. Danilo Ramos of Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Rowlett, Texas officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Hill Cemetery. Arrangements are by Calvary Hill Funeral Home.

Gene, nicknamed "Sundown", was born in Dallas, Texas to Herbert and Louise Smith in 1928. He went to school at Crozier Tech in Dallas, Texas. He worked as a Special Services Tech for Southwestern Bell for almost 50 years. He was a veteran in the Naval Reserves. He was involved in the Knights of Columbus at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church.

Gene is preceded in death by Mary Angelo, his parents, siblings, Dorothy, Marie, Hebert Henry Jr. and all Aunts and Uncles.

He is survived by his three sons, three daughters, 13 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and twin brother, Ted Smith of Houston, Tx

Pallbearers will be his Grand Children.

Memorials may be given to National Kidney Foundation or America Diabetes Association. The family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to the staff at Methodist Hospital of Richardson and Angel Wings Hospice.
