The seventh of eight children, Eric and his siblings were raised in Dallas, TX. With so many children there was never a dull or quiet moment around the Behner house. Always full of mischief, energy and spirit, Eric was indeed one of a kind. After high school, Eric found a career as a long haul truck driver and later was able to be home more and drive locally. As a driver he preferred cars, especially the fast ones. He would spend hours working on his cars and often helped others with their auto repairs. Motorcyles were another of his passions, Eric would jump at any opportunity to ride with his brothers every chance he could. He also loved shopping in resale shops. It was not unusual for him to come home with some weird oddity as a gift for someone that he thought they would like. Although Eric went by the beat of his own drum, he loved his family. He was a caring and thoughtful man who had an unwavering love for his son Kyle. Eric was loved dearly by his family who will miss his fun nature and all his laughter.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Ella Loreen Wolff and his beloved dog, Drake. Eric is survived by his son, Kyle Avery Behner; brothers and sisters, Terry Behner, Cindy Simpson, Vicki Young, Scott Behner, Shane Behner and Tracy Behner; aunt and uncle, Annette and Ron Janetzke; numerous nieces, nephews, other family and many friends, all who will miss him deeply.
Visitation will begin at 1:00 pm followed by a funeral service at 2:00 pm on Thursday, December 7, 2023 at Sparkman Crane Funeral Home, 10501 Garland Road, TX 75218.
