Elvira Rodriguez, 84, was born in Mexico to Porfirio Hernandez Garza and Rosaura Herrera on January 13, 1931. Elvira passed away on April 12, 2015 in Edinburg, TX with her loving family by her side. Among some of her hobbies, Elvira frequented the casinos where loved the fun and excitement with anyone who accompanied her. Her family describes Elvira as a caring person who was always involved in her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren’s lives. Not only did she love them dearly, she would often cook delicious meals for the entire family as well as knit scarfs and baby blankets for the kids. During her younger years, Elvira became a Ballet and Folkloric dance teacher at St. Mary’s of Carmel Catholic Church. She is dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all those whose heart she touched. She is survived by her beloved husband of 63 years, Everardo Rodriguez, daughters, Miriam Rodriguez and Paulita Rodriguez; sons, Eduardo Rodriguez (wife Romalda), Alberto Rodriguez (wife Irma) and William Rodriguez (wife Veronica); grandchildren, Miriam, Michelle, Manuel, Iris, Erika, Aymi, John Adrian, Mayra, Magnolia, Jazmin, Angela, Valerie, Albert II, Eelan, Miguel, Kaylee, and Kevin; great-grandchildren; Aldo, Kayleen, Joey, Elise, Ruben, Esmund, Evelyn, Nadia, Giselle, Genesis, Ariana and William Jr. The Rodriguez Family cordially invites you to join in celebrating and remembering the life of Elvira. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 15, 2015 between 4-8PM, with a Rosary at 6PM in the Calvary Hill Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Mass will be held Thursday, April 16, 2015 at 12PM in the North Chapel of Calvary Hill, with the burial to follow at Calvary Hill Cemetery.
