Edward Thorson, 90, of Dallas passed away on Sunday, October 8, 2017 at a local Dallas assisted living complex. He will always be remembered as a loving husband, brother, uncle and friend to all that knew and loved him.
Edward was born on November 13, 1926 in Ellinwood, Kansas to Eddie and Lydia Thorson. Upon graduation from high school he joined the U. S. Navy and served in the South Pacific during World War II. After returning from service he was employed by Exxon Mobile for his entire working career.
In Dallas, Texas he met and married Marcelyn Fritz in l956. Marcy taught at El Centro College until Edward’s retirement in 1990. Both were active in Our Redeemer Lutheran Church.
Edward is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Marcelyn, and his brother Clarence of Ellinwood, Kansas. Survivors include his brother Norman Thorson and wife Marcie of Tulsa, OK as well as nine nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service will be at 2:00 Friday, October 13, 2017 at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, 7611 Park Ln, Dallas, TX 75225. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, October 12, 2017 at Sparkman/Hillcrest, 7405 W. Northwest Hwy., Dallas, TX 75225.
