Edward was born in Spencer, South Dakota on February 4, 1929 to the late Oliver William Murray and Elda May Salmon. He married Anita Faye Steward on June 10, 1955 in Las Cruces, NM. Edward was a veteran of the Korean War and served in the US. Army for 21 years in various military occupation, where he retired as Sergeant First Class. Awarded the Purple Heart, Good Conduct Medal, The National Defense Service Medal, Korean Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal, and the Combat Infantry Badge.
Upon retirement from the military, he moved his family to Texas to begin the next chapter of his life, where he worked for various companies before opening his own electrical business. He later went on to begin a career as a over the road truck driver where Anita joined him on many road trips before getting her license to drive. Where they drove as a team.
Edward is preceded in death by his wife Anita.
Edward is survived by James and Tyna (wife), Curtis and David. His grandchildren, Kelly Pena, James Jr, Tabitha (James and Tyna) and Samantha (Curtis) and Great-Grandchildren Unique Honeycutt and Matthew Murray (James and Tyna).
Edward’s hobbies were coin collecting, taking Anita on weekend shopping trips, volunteering at vacation bible school and playing cards with his church family.
Edward has gone to be with our Heavenly Father. So let’s not mourn a loss but celebrate life in heaven.
