Doris Aileene Horner Bond, a life-long resident of the Dallas area, passed on to her eternal rest on Sunday, March 11, 2012, freeing her from the complications of COPD she had bravely battled for so many years. Born on March 21, 1932 in Dallas, TX to T.D. Horner and Juanita Horner, Doris graduated from Highland Park High School and University of North Texas. She retired after 30 years as sales representative of Fieldcrest Mills in Dallas. Her spirit, insight and great stories will remain in the hearts and minds of her family and friends forever. She loved to play and watch tennis. She had a terrific memory and was a fighter with a hard façade but was a softie at heart. She was proud to have the highest tech room and her model “show room” at Town Hall Estates.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her former husband Joe H. Bond. She is survived by her son, Thomas H. Bond and his wife Jamie; grandchildren Diana Bond Adams, Jennifer Autumn Bond, Meredith Bond, Melissa Bolin, Greg Bolin; great grandchildren Caitlyn Crumb, Ellie Bolin and Maddie Bolin.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m., Friday March 16th at Sparkman/Hillcrest Mausoleum East Chapel with burial to follow. A visitation will be on Thursday, March 15th from 6:00-8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to World Vision International.
