DeWayne Woodford Roberts

Dewayne Roberts, 61, of Corsicana, TX passed away on Sunday, May 7, 2017 at Faith Presbyterian/T. Boone Pickens Hospice Care Facility in Dallas. He will always be remembered as a loving, husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle and friend to all that knew and loved him.

He was born in Leavenworth, Kansas on September 26, 1955 to James Woodford and Shirley Jean Roberts. He was a Nuclear Engineer working in the Independent Power Industry for nearly 40 years building and operating power generating plants domestically and specialized in the emerging markets worldwide. He was a voracious reader, an enthusiast of History, a lifelong Kansas City Chiefs fan, and had a passion for motorcycles, music, and travelling the unexplored world.

Survivors include his wife of 39 years Rita Roberts of Corsicana, TX; sons Patrick and his wife Erin of McKinney, TX, Matthew of Manchester, NH., father James Roberts, Jr. of Kansas City, MO, sisters MaryAnn Silvius of Kansas City, MO, Sheryl McAvoy also of Overland Park, KS. Also survived by his granddaughters Ella Carolyn and Teagan Parker Roberts of McKinney, TX., along with the many friends and colleagues encountered over the years. He was preceded in death by his mother, Shirley Jean Roberts in 1976 and brother Daryl Roberts in 2012.

A Funeral Service will be at 12:00 pm Noon on Thursday, May 11, 2017 at Sparkman/Hillcrest Northwest Chapel, 7405 W. Northwest Hwy., Dallas, TX 75225.
