Deborah Ann Dudley was born October 16, 1954, in Chicago, IL to the late Leander and Thelma Small Dudley. She was the first of three children. She was formally educated in the Chicago Public School Systems and at Proviso East Highschool in Maywood, IL. She continued her education by attending various colleges, Kendell College, Elmhurst College and finally achieving her master’s degree from Concordia College in River Forest, IL.
Deborah confessed hope in Christ at an early age by uniting with St. Michael Missionary Baptist Church in Chicago. Our beloved cousin, the Rev. James Small helped to indoctrinate faith in Christ by creating a children’s choir where Deborah would lead songs with Sylvia at Hopewell Primitive Baptist Church. She fell ill while worshiping at St. Michael MB Church in 2013. She spent the remainder of her life in Dallas, Texas surrounded by her family.
Even though Deborah chose to remain single and chose not to have children of her own, she taught and nurtured many children as an educator. She retired from District 88, Bellwood Public School System in 2010. Ms. Dudley was known to be a fun teacher that was often requested by multiple families to be their child’s teacher. She was a strong teacher that was known to be able to reach the unreachable kids.
Deborah loved bowling and traveled with her club. This stopped when she fell in love with having long elaborate fingernails. She also was a member of the Corvette club. She loved entertaining and was the life of any party that she attended. Bid Wiz was her game and she also loved going to the boat. Deborah loved to travel and hang out with her dear friends Helen and Bill. Deborah lived life to the fullest.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her siblings Leander Dudley, and Annette Dudley Wiggins. Her nieces and nephews, Sarita Annette Dudley, James Robinson, Antinique Jones, Justin Gray, Isis LeShae Dudley, Harvey Christian (Jenna) and Travis (Madeline) Wiggins, her great nieces and nephews, Ragan Nixon, John Skinner, Kaliyah Jones, Kylcie and Briah Gray, Jahir Summerfield, Indya Dudley, and Arthur Royce Wiggins.
