David E. Triplett, 52, of Dallas, Texas died in his sleep while on business in New York City on June 17, 2011. As a Regional Construction Manager for FedEx Office since 2003, David travelled the US and touched many lives and made many life-long friends. Formerly he was with Retail Construction and Sesame Street Stores. He took great pride and pleasure in his work.
David grew up in Dallas where he graduated from Bryan Adams High School and attended Texas Tech University, Southern Methodist University and University of Texas Dallas. He was an ardent Dallas sports fan, especially the Dallas Cowboys and SMU Mustangs. His first passion was being the best uncle he could be to his nieces and nephews. His other great passion was golf. An outstanding player he dreamed of playing courses all over the world yet was happy to play at anytime, anywhere and with any fellow golfer. He encouraged others with his patience and perseverance both on and off the course.
His parents, Cecil and Kathleen Triplett, preceded David in death. He is survived by his three sisters and brother-in-laws, Carol and John Cox, Grace Graham, Liz and Richard Gannaway; nieces and nephews Scott Cox, Erin Cox and fiancé Max Miller, Charlotte Graham, Kathleen Graham, Alice Graham, Carey and Austin Redwine, and Rick Gannaway; uncle and aunt Dr. George and Myra Anderson. The void that is left in his family’s lives can never be filled.
Services will be held at Sparkman Hillcrest Funeral home, 4505 Northwest Hwy., Dallas, Texas at 2pm on Friday June 24. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations made in his memory to First Tee (www.firsttee.org) or Habitat for Humanity (www.habitat.org) to celebrate his talents and further his passions of golf and construction.
