He was born on December 11, 1935 in Ft. Wayne, Indiana, the son of the late Frank and Thelma (Hurst) Gorman. Dan was a Marsh Foundation resident for 11 years. Upon graduation from Van Wert High School in 1955, he went to work at Aeroquip Corporation in the factory. In a relatively short time, he was promoted to sales and marketing, and when he retired from there after 38 years, he was Director of North American Sales.
On July 19, 1958, he married his high school sweetheart and love of his life, Linda Bagley. They were blessed with 6 children. Through the many company moves back and forth across the country, wherever the eight of them were was home.
Dan’s faith and his family were the center of his life. He was known for his fun loving nature and warm heart. He loved dancing, music, hunting, fishing, golf, horses, and anything Western.
He is survived by his wife, Linda of Plano, Texas; his children, Liz (Patrick) Malloy of Fort Worth, Texas, Mark (Nancy) Gorman of McKinney, Texas, Caroline Gorman of New Braunfels, Texas, John (Terri) Gorman of Plano, Texas, Nancy Gorman of Pilot Point, Texas, and Laura (John) Stout of Elizabeth, Colorado; grandchildren, Michael (Lucie) Malloy of Fort Worth, Texas, Erin Malloy of Austin, Texas, Emma Gorman of Allen, Texas, Meghan (Taylor) Fuller of Prosper, Texas, Katherine Gorman of McKinney, Texas, Jessi Gorman of Plano, Texas, Caitlyn Tanner of Groom, Texas, Hayden, Jacob, and Luke Stout of Elizabeth, Colorado; great grandchildren, Elise, Clara, Mary, and Nora Malloy of Fort Worth, Texas and Logan Fuller of Prosper, Texas; sister, Patricia Fellers, and brother, Jerry (Cheryl) Gorman both of Van Wert, Ohio.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 6 from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 7:15 p.m. at Ted Dickey West Funeral Home, 7990 George Bush Turnpike, in Dallas, Texas, 75252. A mass celebrating the Rite of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 7 at All Saints Catholic Community, 5231 Meadowcreek Drive, Dallas, Texas, 75248. A reception will immediately follow in Fellowship Hall.
