Mrs. Connie Lee (Swann) Mills

A graveside service for Connie will be held Saturday, February 8, 2019 at 2:00 PM at Brookside Memorial Park 13747 Eastex Freeway Houston, TX 77039. A map of graveside will be provided week before service.

Connie was born July 1st, 1945 in Winnsboro, Texas to Rufus and Carolyn Swann.

Connie is preceded in death by her Husband Dennis Mills.

She is survived by her daughter Denise Trevino, son-in-law Bob Trevino, son James Mills, daughter-in-law Tracie Mills, son Mark Mills, daughter-in-law Charolette Mills, daughter Carrie Hardee, son-in-law Luke Hardee; seven grandchildren, Shelbi, Sean, Devlin, Nico, Mia, Gwenyth, and Violet; three great-grandchildren, Scarlett, Carter, and Liam; Aunt Nadine Caviness; Siblings Barry Swann, Christine Roberts, Cathy Zapata, and James Swann. There are also numerous Nieces, Nephews, and Cousins.

She was a beloved Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Sister, Aunt, Cousin, and friend to many.

After relocating with her family to Houston Texas, Connie met her future husband Dennis Mills on a blind date, they married on May 7th, 1965 & were together for 33 years. Connie always loved children and was happy to raise four of them that made her very proud. She was a homemaker most of her life and worked hard to provide for her family. Connie had a kind, gentle, & accepting nature that she shared with everyone. She loved spending time with her family, her dog Yoda; especially during the holidays & special events.

She loved sunflowers and much like sunflowers whose roots run deep so do those of her family tree. Sunflowers stay unified in purpose and their position is fixed towards the sun, like seeing the positive or bright side of all things. The bible says “Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity.” Psalm 133:1 Sunflowers stand strong together and are united just like her family and she was the center of our family’s universe. We will miss everything about you. Every word, every hug, every smile, EVERYTHING!

A visitation for Connie was held Friday, December 27, 2019 at 10:00 AM at Laurel Land Funeral Home. 6300 South R.L. Thornton Freeway, Dallas, TX 75232.

A celebration of life followed at 12:00 PM at Laurel Land Memorial Chapel.
