Cleo Campbell

Cleo Hicks Campbell was born September 25, 1936 in Carthage, Texas to Ralton and Elberta Hicks. Cleo was number four of five siblings born to this union. Cleo was united in marriage to William Campbell on December 12, 1959. They celebrated fifty-seven wonderful years of marriage loving each other until the end. Cleo was the mother of three daughters and three sons. Cleo was employed at Blue Cross and Blue Shield for over 20 years where she retired in 1996. After retirement, she went to work for Dallas Independent School District as a testing coordinator. Cleo was a strong advocate for education and political awareness. She taught her children and grandchildren the importance of family, friends and fellowship. She was an active member of Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church for over fifty years, serving faithfully as a member of Usher Board #1 and Secretary of Mission #1 for many years. Her commitment to her duties was unwavering. Cleo loved to bake and shop for her family and friends. On November 10, 2107, just before the break of day, Cleo transitioned from this earthly life to her eternal home in Glory, welcomed by her Parents, Husband, William C. Campbell Sr. Son, Michael Campbell; Sisters, Bobbie Holland and Louise Hicks Shephard; Brothers, Louis Hicks, Neal Hicks and Perman Hicks Cleo leaves to cherish her memory: Daughters, Audre Peel, Michelle Rider (Glen) and Janice Broughton; Sons, Clarence Campbell (Betty) and Anthony Fitzgerald (Debbie); Fourteen Grandchildren, Kerwin Hicks (Sherlyn), LaDonna Fuller (Darius), Constance Rosemond, Brandon Campbell, Shenequial Campbell, William Campbell III, Christopher Campbell, Joshua Campbell, Shamaria Campbell, Johnathan Bagsley, Clarissa Broughton, Leah Broughton, Markita Fitzgerald and Piyah Fitzgerald; Siblings, Ralph Hicks (Nelva), Vennie Lee Jackson and Maedesa Green; Daughter-In-Law, Denita Campbell; Goddaughter, Patricia Taylor Johnosn; Sister-In-Laws, Myra Joyce Campbell, Mary Sutphen, Pauline Hicks and Faye Spates; Special Cousin, Fannie Lee Pruitt; Close Friends, Dorothy Johnson, Lawanda Richey and Elnora Sullivan; and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews cousins and friends.
