Charlotte Barton McGuire, Passed peacefully into the hands of her Lord and Mother Mary on November 13, 2010. She was born September 15, 1936 in Lowell, Massachusetts to parents Dorothy Thompson Barton and Edward David Barton. Charlotte married her high school sweetheart and was a devoted and loving wife to Robert C. McGuire for 54 years. The couple moved to Dallas Texas in 1960 where they lived thereafter. She was an outstanding mother to her eight children and a fun grandmother to her 26 grandchildren. Charlotte treasured her extended family of 6 siblings and was a beloved aunt to many nieces and nephews. She was also a loyal friend to a myriad of people. Charlotte was a devout Catholic serving in various vocations in her parish of St. Monica. She dedicated her energies to adult education in the parishes of St. Rita and St. Monica. For 26 years she headed up a Scripture Study for Adults at St. Monica each Sunday. She assisted her church community in so many beautiful ways such as lector, Eucharistic Minister, visitation to sick, lay apostle and Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament. She served for 12 years assisting Fr. Tim Gollob as a volunteer with the chaplain service of the Veterans Hospital in Dallas. Of all of Charlotte's gifting and graces, the greatest legacy she leaves to family, friends, and the community is her stalwart undying faith and ardent love for God, gaining for her inestimable treasures both in heaven and on earth. Charlotte is survived by her husband Robert C. McGuire and seven children: Catherine Powell married to Richard Powell Sr., Karen Ward married to Stephen Ward, Charlotte Link married to James Link Jr., Dorothy Bayles married to Christian Bayles, Lucy Allen married to Richard Allen, Robert C. McGuire Jr. and Eileen Iannelli married to Richard Iannelli, 26 grandchildren, and her siblings: Sr. Mary Charlotte Barton GNSH, Edward D. Barton, Alice Barton Cramp, Patricia Hartley, James F. Barton, and Mary Morais. Charlotte was preceded in death by her son Christopher Barton McGuire. The Wake service: St. Monica Church at 7:00 o'clock p.m. on November 17, 2010: Funeral: St. Monica Catholic Church at 11:00 o'clock a.m. on November 18, 2010. Luncheon immediately following the Mass of Resurrection in the Family Center adjacent to the Church. Private interment at Sparkman Hillcrest for family members.
