Charles Bentley Long died peacefully in his home on September 16, 2011 with his loving grandson, Ryan, and his sisters Geri and Wanda holding his hands as he went immediately into the loving arms of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He was born on September 6, 1927 in Morganfield, KY to William and Lillie (Fellows) Long who preceded him in death along with seven older siblings. Also preceding him in death was his loving wife of 62 years, Helen, and their son, Brian. Upon graduating from Bosse High School in Evansville, IN. He married Helen at age 20, then worked for Alcoa, and made lifelong friends in the business. He lived in Dallas for 43 years and was a devoted member at First Baptist Church. He was always a witness for the Lord he loved. He was the most devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and so loved by all. Survivors include his daughter Pamela Bissett; grandson Ryan Long and his wife Danielle; granddaughter, Tiffany Bissett, Michelle Payne and her husband, David, Elizabeth Wommack and her husband, Adam; great-grandson Bentley Long; great-granddaughters, Natasha Bissett, Jessica and Stephanie Payne, Madison and Alexa Wommack; and great-granddaughter Cera Sanchez, as well as many loving nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held at Sparkman/Hillcrest Funeral Home on Monday, September 19 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at Sparkman/Hillcrest Northwest Highway Chapel at 2:00 p.m.
