Charles Thomas “Charlie” Ivey was born in Dallas, Texas on June 15, 1958. He graduated from South Garland High School in 1976. Afterward, he attended college at Eastfield. Charlie worked at our family business, Ivey Lumber Sales and Ivey Building Materials, later running his own hardwood floor refinishing & reconstruction company.
He also served in the United States Marine Corps in the mid 1980’s. Charlie was an avid outdoorsman. He loved spending time at the family cabin in Colorado and the “Tick Farm” in far north Texas.
Charlie is preceded in death by his parents, Roy & Arcola Ivey, Sister-in-law, Barbara Sue Ivey and niece, Yvette Ivey. He is survived by 2 sons, Chase (Colette) Ivey and Chance (Ashley) Ivey; 6 grandsons, Aven, Asher, Ace, Aston, Archer & Sebastian; brother, Roy “Bubba” (Teresa) Ivey; sister, Suzanne (Kenneth) Wolverton; long-time girlfriend Angela Andrews; nephews, nieces, cousins and countless friends.
Visitation will be held Saturday, October 29, 2022 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Sparkman-Crane Funeral Home, 10501 Garland Road, Dallas, TX 75218. A celebration of life will occur Sunday, October 30, 2022 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, 10501 Garland Road, Dallas, TX 75218. An interment will occur Sunday, October 30, 2022 from 3:30 PM to 4:00 PM at Grove Hill Memorial Park, 3920 Samuell Blvd, Dallas, TX 75228. A reception will occur Sunday, October 30, 2022 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Grove Hill Funeral Home, 3920 Samuell Blvd, Dallas, TX 75228.
