Charles “Mike” Fowler was born on September 20, 1943 in Sudan, Texas to LG and Nadine Fowler. He was the eldest of 2 children. The Fowler family moved to Lubbock, Texas where he graduated from Monterrey High School and attended Texas Tech University, while working for the family business, Fowler Manufacturing. Mike was the father to four children, grandfather to seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Mike started his 40 year sales career in the trucking industry in Lubbock which later included stops in Dallas, Denton, Lewisville and Lufkin, where he opened his own business, Angelina Truck & Trailer. Everyone loved Mike and Mike loved everyone. His infectious smile and bigger than life laugh always brought joy to everyone when he entered a room. He had a love for life, no matter the circumstance. He loved family, football, fishing and food and not always in that order. Mike was preceded in death by his parents and his wife of 28 years, Carolyn Fowler. He is survived by his four children: Denise Fowler Caughron of Lubbock, Texas and her husband Terry, Michele Beadle Wheeler of Plano, Texas and her husband Jeff, Michael Fowler of Boise Idaho and his wife Donna, and Stacey Beadle Harris of Coppell, Texas and her husband Clint. He is affectionately known as “Pee-Paw” to his grandchildren: Tyler, AJ, Amanda, Megan, Mike, Emily and Sam and his great grandchildren, Brekk, Paisley and Coy. Other survivors include his sister, Mary Jo Delavan of Midland, Texas and her husband Bill and his two nieces Erin and Katelyn. After the passing of his wife Carolyn in 2000, Mike was blessed to find the perfect complement for his life in Carol Ware. Mike and Carol shared the last 15 years as special devoted companions, loving and caring for each other. A memorial service will be held on Friday, August 14th at 1:00 in the Chapel at Prestonwood Baptist Church in Plano, Texas. Remembrance memorials may be made to the Baylor Heart Hospital of Plano or a charity of your choice.
