Charles Davis was born to the proud parents of Marvin Love Sr and Lennie V Davis on August 23, 1949, in Red River County, Texas. Both parents preceded him in death. He has a host of sisters, brothers, nieces, and nephews from the Davis and Love Family.
Charles was an alumni graduate student at Booker T Washington High School. After High School on January 10, 1967, he joined the military and served his country proudly as a Veteran of the Vietnam War in the Army Artery in Fort Dixon, New Jersey.
In May 1978, Charles married the love of his life, Shirley “Honi” and had three beautiful children: Tamara “Goldie” Davis, Tracshawn Davis, and Tamesta “Mesto” Davis. For over 45+ years of courtship and marriages, his also leaves behind, five grandchildren: Teric Thomas, Dae’jza Davis, Zah’nae “Tiffany” Davis, Marquez Hill, & Tiara Jones and one great granddaughter Daisy Journey Thomas that loved him dearly.
We are all here today because of our lives have been touched by Charles Davis. The longer you knew him, the more you realized how remarkable of a man he was, how remarkable a servant, how devoted to his family, how loyal to his friends, how faithful to God, and how available he was to anyone who needed help. With his great sense of humor and quick-wittiness, he will be remembered as the “Life of the Party”.
For as long as he knew him, Charles Davis followed Jesus as best he knew how, and was absolutely devoted to his Christian faith. He joined Faith Temple SDA Church and was baptized in 1986. At the Bedford Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in June 2022, he confessed his sins to the Lord, and returned to God with a cleansed heart, soul, mind, and being by rededicating his life to Christ.
