Charles Olin Cobb was born September 23, 1940, in Texarkana, TX. He was the first of three sons to Marlin and Evelyn Sandlin Cobb. He graduated from Denison High School in May 1959 and attended Navarro College in Corsicana.
Charles was a life-long retail manager, working for K. Wolens and Levine’s Department stores. He also owned several businesses in the Dallas area. Staring his retail career at the early age of 15 with K. Wolens in Denison, TX he managed stores in Port Lavaca, & Palacios, TX. He also supervised stores across the state and worked his way to the K. Wolens corporate office as Director of Store Operations. From there, Charles continued his career as manager of the Red Bird Levine’s in Dallas and then moved on to the store manager of the Pleasant Grove Store.
Charles loved his children and family and always put their needs first. He loved Texas history and developed lifelong friendships across the state.
He was preceded in death by his mother Evelyn Cobb, his father Marlin Cobb, his brother John Cobb and grandson Shawn Cobb. Surviving Charles are his children, David Cobb and his wife Sherry, Kevin Cobb and his wife Kristi, Larry Cobb and his wife Clara, his daughter Danna Cobb, son Daniel Cobb and wife Jennifer, son Kerry Cobb and wife Amanda, one brother Daniel Cobb and wife Dawn, nine grandchildren, two great grandchildren and other loving family members and friends.
The family thanks the wonderful care Charles received while in Ardent Hospice care. The nurses provided 24 hour care in his last days and allowed him to pass into heaven with painless grace.
