Charles Austin of Dallas, TX, was born in Waco Texas on October 11, 1929. The first born son of proud parents Clarence Alexander Austin and Elizabeth Moore Austin. Charles went to be with his Lord and Savior on October 13, 2012 at the age of 83 where he was surrounded by his loving wife, Dorothy Austin and his beloved family.
Charles loved his family deeply. He is survived by his loving wife Dorothy Austin of Dallas, his younger brother Boyd Austin and wife Janet of Wills Point, his dearest sister Doris Bickerstaff of Red Oak and his loving daughters Deborah Seward of Dallas, Jan Austin of Dallas, Lisa Allen and son-in-law Ronnie of Dallas, Ann Seutter & son-in-law Gus of Mesquite, Son Michael Daughtry and daughter-in law Marsha of Waco; 9 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; and 1 great great grandchild; numerous nieces and nephews and a multitude of friends.
After High School, Charles went in to service for his country where he served two tours of duty. 1947 thru 1951 as a private in the Air Force and 1954 thru 1958 as a specialist in the Army. It was during this last tour of duty that Charles met his beloved wife Dorothy of 57 years from Spartanburg, South Carolina.
After completing his military service, Charles and Dorothy returned to his home state of Texas where they began their family and life together until his death on October 13, 2012. Charles made a decision to attend technical school to go into the field of heating and refrigeration as a technician. After completing his training, he began his life long career that spanned over 50 years with several organizations. He often spoke of his tenure with two of his favorites, which were Atlas Refrigeration and Chapman Air Conditioning where he was employed until his passing on October 13, 2012.
Charles and his wife Dorothy were members of Orchard Hills Baptist Church in Garland under the teaching and leadership of Pastor Dickson Rial.
Service Information:: Visitation - Tuesday, October 16, 2012 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM - Sparkman/Crane Funeral Home. Funeral Service – Wednesday, October 17, 2012 @ 11:00 AM – Sparkman/Crane Funeral Home. Burial will be at the DFW National Cemetery, Dallas, Texas at 2:15 PM. Visitation of Family of Friends - October 17, 2012 starting at 5:00 PM at 4401 Seedling Lane, Mesquite, Texas, 75150 - Come and Go - finger foods and drinks provided
