Cecilia Chapa, 88, a long-time resident of the Dallas area and originally from Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico, passed away of natural causes on Wednesday, the 19th of October. She has gone to be with the Lord, to join her husband and two sons. Born on November 22, 1927, Cecilia had a career in nursing in Monterrey, Mexico. In 1950, accompanied by her late, husband, Rodolfo Chapa, and her children, she immigrated to the U.S. where she resided in Dallas until her passing. Cecilia always enjoyed the company of her children and grandchildren. A devout Catholic, Cecilia always demonstrated her faith by the way she lived as a daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is survived by her brother Roberto Navarro and his family, her 7 children, 5 daughters and 2 sons and 21 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren. The visitation will be on Thursday, October 20, 2016, with rosary being recited at 7:30 pm on Thursday, October 20, 2016 in the chapel at Calvary Hill Funeral Home.
