Carrie Colene White was born on May 29, 1929 in Camden, Arkansas, to the parents of Nelson and Roberta Harper-Toney. She was the middle child of three; her eldest- brother Marcellus “Jack” Toney of Camden, Arkansas, her younger-sister Evelyn Caldwell of Flint, Michigan, and her half-sister Freda Langley-Toney of Camden, Arkansas.
She accepted Christ early in life and was a faithful and long-time member of the Greenville Missionary Baptist Church in Stamps, Arkansas. She served in several capacities and was a devoted Choir Member.
She graduated from Columbia High School in Magnolia, Arkansas in 1948. She furthered her education at DeLuxe Beauty College in Pine Bluff, Arkansas in 1949, and obtained her Associate Degree from Arkansas AM&N College in Pine Bluff, Arkansas in 1951.
On May 12,1948 she married William White and birth four children: William Raymond White, Terry Lawrence White, Debra Marie White and Huey Carnell White.
Carrie had many vocations and was a pillar in the community. Shortly, after graduating from Cosmetology School in (1949) she began her journey as a hair dresser and owned and operated a beauty salon. She was employed at Lone Star Ammunition Plant in Texarkana, Texas, as well as, at Alan White Furniture Co. in Stamps, Arkansas. She loved to cook and even became a cook at several local restaurants.
In her later years, Carrie relocated to Dallas, Texas and united with the Marsalis Avenue Baptist Church in Dallas, Texas.
Carrie was a hard-working, dedicated, and caring woman, who never asked for much, but would give her last if it meant she was able to put a smile on someone else’s face.

Sister-In-Laws: Della Mae Adams and Waver Lee Easter
As well as, a host of nephews, nieces, relatives and numerous special friends.
