Carrie Bell Wells was born May 09, 1937, in Yonkers, New York, daughter of the late Charles and Marie Johnson, along with her late brother, Charles Johnson and brother, Roy Johnson, nieces, Valerie Martin, Wanda Gupton and Tye Johnson and nephew, Roy Johnson, Jr.
She resided in the City of Yonkers, New York for many years, attended “Commerce High School” and graduated in June 1955. She continued her education at “Westchester Business Institute College”, White Plains, New York and “Elizabeth Seton College”, Yonkers, New York, where she studied and received her Associate Degree in Accounting. In addition, she achieved honors as an Art Editor at “Commerce High School” and by making the Dean List at “Westchester Business Institute College”. She moved to Spring Valley, New York and made her home in Carrollton, Texas for many years.
Carrie was employed by the “New York State Department of Labor” in October 1972 and held many positions for over 23 years where she retired in October, 1995.
Carrie was a member of Messiah Baptist Church, Yonkers, New York and attended Keller Springs Baptist Church, Carrollton, Texas.
Carrie B Wells departed this life on Tuesday, June 4, 2024, at “Baylor University Medical Center, part of Baylor Scott & White, Dallas, Texas, after an extended illness.
Surviving are her beloved Children, son, Frank Wells and his wife, Nicole Wells, daughters, Felicia Taylor, Michelle Adams and her husband, George Adams, and Charlene Capers. Grandchildren, Frankie Wells, De’Andre Adams, DJ Adams, Chanel Bracey, Janelle Carter and her husband, Dominic Carter, Chantel Taylor, Quincy Curry, Cherelle Capers, Jamal Adams, Gregg Taylor, Camille Armour and India Wells; Great grandchildren, Justin Wells, Jaidan Wells, Dominic Carter, Jr., Nevaeh Carter, Amirra Kincade, London Carter, Aniyah Kincade, Carter Curry, Brooklyn Carter all who reside in “Texas, New York and Michigan, with many relatives and a host of friends.
