She was born on July 18, 1959, in Dallas, to the late Floyd and Patsy Young. Brenda was a 1977 graduate of Wylie High School and went on to earn her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Texas at Dallas. She worked as an accountant for Roger Staubach.
Brenda truly had a zest for life itself, finding joy in whatever came her way. Brenda’s faith ran deep and she was a member of St. Andrew United Methodist Church in Plano. She appreciated the beauty of the earth and enjoyed her plants. Brenda was an avid reader and was a member of two book clubs. She loved boating with her husband and enjoyed traveling. She was selfless and was always thinking of others, and others were drawn to her generous spirit and caring heart. Brenda had many lifelong friends and relished time spent with them, along with her family that she cherished so much. Dinners with friends and floating the pool was what she loved the most; add in some wine and pina coladas, Brenda was certain to have the perfect day. More than anything, she was so lucky in love with her husband, Brad, whom she adored and was so blessed to have truly lived and loved for the last ten years. Brenda will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew her.
In addition to her parents, Brenda was preceded in death by her infant sister, Deborah Young; and nephews, Benjamin Young and Robert Young. She is survived by her devoted husband, Bradley Scott; stepsons, Hunter James Scott of Allen and Austin Bradley Scott and wife, Katie, of Canyon Lake, Texas; granddaughter, Cali Scott; brothers, Michael William Young of Wylie, Texas, Anthony Brian Young and wife, Sue, of Fayetteville, Arkansas; and David Russell Young and wife, Tammy, of Mesquite, Texas; brothers-in-law, Bill Scott and wife, Pat, of Frisco, Texas and Bryan Scott of Richardson, Texas; and nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends; and her beloved dog, Otis.
