She attended to Bremond High School and later moved to Dallas, Texas. While living in Dallas, she gave birth to four children, two boys and two girls. Brenda was employed by D.I.S.D. for several years, as well as Baylor and Parkland Hospital. She accepted Christ early in her life while attending First New Faith Missionary Baptist Church, under the late Rev. S.H. Jemerson.
Brenda met James Jemerson in 1985 and later married on September 27, 1993. They enjoyed life and spending time together. Later in life, they found a new church home at New Community Missionary Baptist Church, under Reverend Alton Ingram.
Brenda was preceded in death by her loving parents, Roosevelt and Juanita Hickman; brothers, Wyndell Tomas Hickman, Willie Frank Hickman, Clyde Hickman, and James Hickman; sisters, Mary Wallace, Vera Tinnard, Betty Brooks, and Doris O’Neal Hopkins.
Brenda leaves to cherish her great memories: her husband, James Jemerson; sons, Tyrone Jones and Demont Hickman; daughters, Temmekia and Laquisha Hickman; grandchildren, Maurad Curry, Jr., Isaiah Curry, Taylor Smith, Brianna Hickman, Albert Johnson V, Isabella Jones, and Sir Thomas Jones; brothers, Bernard Roy Hickman and Earnest Hickman; sisters, Birdie Faye Hickman and Clara Spight; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends
