Blake Charles Rich went to be with our Lord on Sunday, March 20, 2022. Blake was born on Friday, May 14, 2021, at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas. He was joyfully welcomed by his parents, Lauren and Daniel Blake Rich, and his Big Brother, William Daniel Rich.
During his short time here, Blake brought many people joy with his sweet smile, his big, bright eyes and his calm demeanor. He enjoyed being sung to, taking warm baths, cuddling during naps and being right in the middle of his family’s laughter and chaos. Blake was strong and brave. His life was a miracle and a beautiful blessing, full of purpose and meaning. While he was with us, many referred to him as “Angel Baby Blake”, and that is exactly what he was. To know him was to love him, he will forever be in our hearts and will be greatly missed by many.
In addition to his parents and brother, Blake is survived by maternal grandparents, Jeannie and Dan Loredo of San Antonio, Texas; maternal aunts and uncles, Amanda and Jeff Scecina and cousins Jack, Jennifer and Eric Vega, and Steven Loredo; maternal great-grandmother, Susie Loredo; paternal grandparents, Teri and Danny Rich of Lufkin, Texas; paternal great-grandmother, Sunny Smith; paternal aunt and uncle, Ashley and Noe Castellanos and cousin Annie; and many great aunts, uncles, and 2nd cousins. The family would like to thank Rowanie Leiva, Blake’s loving nanny, for the precious time she spent with Blake.
A service of celebration and thanksgiving for the life of Blake will be held on Friday, April 1, 2022, at 10:00 AM in the Cox Chapel at Highland Park United Methodist Church, followed by the interment at Hillcrest Memorial Park and reception in the parlor of Sparkman/Hillcrest Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Texas Scottish Rite for Children in Blake’s honor.
