Billy Nelson Wimbish unexpectedly passed away on August 15th, 2024. He was 69 years old. Billy was born on June 12, 1955 in Dallas, Texas to Doyle Wimbish and Rita Giddings Crenshaw. Billy was preceded in death by his Grandparents William and Linnie Giddings, Father Doyle Wimbish, Granddaughter Erin “Lizzie” May and Best Friend Bill Cowley.
Billy is survived by his Mother Rita Crenshaw (Grand Prairie, Texas), Daughter Heather Wimbish, Grandchildren Keira “Knotthead” and Caleb Lennon May (Carrollton, Texas), Brothers Doyle Ray Wimbish (Red Oak, Texas), Michael (Denice) Wimbish (Avalon, Texas), Steve Wimbish (Grand Prairie, Texas), Doyle Nelson Wimbish Jr. (Seagoville, Texas) Sisters Deborah Cooper (Grand Prairie, Texas), Rhonda Lents (Richardson, Texas), Mandy (Dan) Richards (Forney, Texas), Hunter Wimbish Kirk (Austin) (Mineola, Texas), and Kensey Wimbish (Brownsboro, Texas). He is also survived by numerous Nieces and Nephews, and Friend Nick (Dayna) Cowley (Streetman, Texas).
Billy was raised in Oak Cliff Texas, also known lovingly as “The Hood”. Billy took pride in his hometown and was a proud Sunset Bison Alumni. Billy enjoyed a long career of over 20 years as a truck driver for Overnight/UPS alongside 3 of his brother’s. He had a strong work ethic and a desire to provide for his family. He loved to reminisce about “the good ol’ days” along with many other hobbies. His hobbies included a love for fishing, hunting, riding his Harley, and music. Billy had a passion for The Beatles, and he loved to attend concerts with those close to him.
Billy was a caring Son, Dad, Papa, Brother,Uncle and Friend. As you know he could argue with the best of them and was onery and stubborn, but he had a heart of gold.
He will be extremely missed by everyone that had the pleasure of knowing and loving him.
