Archie Don Neal

Archie Don Neal, age 82, passed away on January 23, 2024 in Fort Worth, Texas. He was born on April 19,1941 in Lone Oak, Texas to Archie and Essie (Oler) Neal. Don was raised in Lone Oak and graduated from Lone Oak High School in 1959. He married Jonne Ruth Williams in 1962, and the couple had two children.

He was an employee of American General Insurance Company where he worked for more than 30 years. He enjoyed yard work, woodworking and building things in his shop. He was very involved in church ministry and fellowship. And he loved playing any game he could find a way to win, especially 42 and Canasta. His family and friends will remember him as a humble servant, friend to all, and his grandkids’ biggest cheerleader. He was an avid fan of the Cowboys, the Rangers, and whatever teams Shay or Cale have played on or coached. Papaw consistently pushed those he loved to be the best they could be.

He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Joe and Troy Neal, and four sisters, Martha Grace (Neal) Pennington, Christine (Neal) Parks, Leta (Neal) Dixson, and Florice (Neal) Morris. He is survived by his wife, Jonne Ruth (Williams) Neal, his daughter, Donna (Neal) Nanny and her husband, Shay, as well as his son, Danny and his wife, Angela (Bearden) Neal. He is also survived by his three grandchildren: Cale Nanny, Annie Neal, and Archie Neal. The four of the eleven siblings that survive him are Rita (Neal) Jones, Smith Neal, Patsy (Neal) Greene, Genita (Neal) Dalby and their families.

A visitation for Archie will be held Saturday, January 27, 2024 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Grove Hill Funeral Home, 3920 Samuell Blvd, Dallas, TX 75228. A funeral service will occur Saturday, January 27, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, 3920 Samuell Blvd, Dallas, TX 75228. A committal service will occur Saturday, January 27, 2024 from 11:15 AM to 11:30 AM, 3920 Samuell Blvd, Dallas, TX 75228.
