Amanda A. Savage was born October 23, 1958 in Chicago, IL and passed away May 15, 2011 in McKinney, TX. Amanda was a nursing educator at the Medical Center of McKinney. Always an advocate for her patients and her co-workers, she was a consummate nurse-leader in many hospitals from Massachusetts to Texas. Among her many personal and professional achievements, Amanda remained quietly proud of her eight years service as a nurse in the United States Army Reserves, achieving the rank of Captain.
She is survived by her husband of 29 years, Army Reserve Colonel Robert “Bob” Savage, ANC; sons: Thomas & wife Kimberly, Jacob & Alexander; grandchildren, Connor Savage & Avery Wagner; her parents, Dr. William Soybel & Ruth Soybel, Esq.; her brothers & sisters: Deborah Siegel & husband Neil, Dr. David Soybel, Halle Soybel-Fish & husband Michael, Jeremy Soybel & wife Paula and Dr. Phyllis Soybel-Butler & husband Dr. Rob Butler; and brothers-in-law, Carl Savage & wife Patricia and John Savage & wife Nadine, and many cherished nieces & nephews.
A memorial service will be 10:00 a.m. Friday May 20, 2011 in the Northwest Highway Chapel at Sparkman Hillcrest Funeral Home with Chaplin Ricky Hargrave officiating.
