Alma Beard Wright Garrison, 95, passed away October 27, 2019 in Garland, Texas. She was born June 12, 1924 in Kemp, Texas. Alma graduated from Ennis High School and went on to serve as a secretary in the Waves. After she was honorably discharged, she married Ben Wright and they had 3 children together. Alma was a spiritual person and shared that with everyone she knew. While she was pregnant with her second child, she received her beautician’s license and did hair of family and friends between working as a secretary. She married Pete Garrison in 1974 and had 2 grandsons from that union. IN her spare time, Alma enjoyed painting and quilting.
Alma is preceded in death by her two husbands, parents and all of her siblings. She is survived by three children, three grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, one great-great granddaughter and extended family members, Linda and Jim Mierson, Dawne Bradley and Chris Bradley, Teresa Elllerd, Sandra Leslie, Phillis Adams and Suzi Smart.
Visitation will take place on Saturday, November 9, 2019 from 1:00-2:00 pm with services to follow at 2:00pm at Grove Hill Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Grove Hill Memorial Park.
