Adriana Angelica Herrera, of Richardson, Texas, peacefully passed away on Good Friday, April 10, 2020, at her home surrounded by her loving family. She will always be remembered as a loving wife, caring mother, and special friend to all that knew and loved her.
Adriana was born on January 7, 1969, in McAllen, Texas to her parents, Alejandro and Apolonia Estrada. She later moved to McKinney, Texas, where she met her husband, Michael Herrera. The two of them fell in love and started a family. Their children Alexandria, Robert, and Kathryn were who she poured her heart into. They truly were her pride and joy.
Adriana, also affectionately called Bonnie, attended the University of North Texas and received her Associates degree in Business. After working for a time with the Collin County Tax Assessors office, she retired from work to devote herself to raising her children. She never missed a performance, a ball game, or an opportunity to volunteer for her kids. Bonnie loved adventuring and traveling with her family. She especially cherished the simple moments with her loved ones over a good meal, a movie and conversation. She often participated in 5K walks, particularly the Susan G. Komen Walk. She enjoyed dancing at concerts and cheering on the Dallas Stars and Texas Rangers with her family. Joe and Lucy, her two cats, loved spending time with her. A grateful and patient soul, she lived life fully and inspired many with her grace and strength. She found peace serving the Lord through St. Mark’s the Evangelist Catholic Church. Her final resting place is to be in the columbarium at St. Mark’s.
Adriana is survived by Michael, Alexandria, Robert, and Kathryn Herrera; her mother, Apolonia Estrada and her parents In-law, Robert and Anna Herrera; her brothers Alex Jr., Adalberto, Arturo Estrada, and her sister, Carolina Mendoza. She has many surviving aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Alejandro Estrada.
The Funeral Service can be viewed on the Ted Dickey West Funeral Home Facebook page where it was live streamed on Thursday, April 16, 2020.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church, located at 1201 Alma Dr., Plano, Texas 75075.
