“Being blessed with talent is a man who works with his hands and mind and has the vision to see the completed results before he begins” These are the traits of Robert Eugene Cloninger age 76 who passed away but will not be forgotten on Sunday, June 14, 2015 at the Robin Johnson Hospice House, Dallas, NC. Mr. Cloninger was a detailed craftsman and talented woodworker, welder and steel fabricator and a very talented artist on his canvas paintings. Robert is the son of the late Mildred Huffstetler Cloninger and Sloan Cloninger.
Robert’s loving family left to cherish his memories and the beautiful arts he made are his wife of 32 years, Elizabeth Cloninger; daughters: Teresa Hartwell (Morris), Belinda Gentry (Dave), Donna Rayfield (Jay) all of Kings Mountain, NC; son: Barry Cloninger of Dallas, NC; step-daughter Hope Wilson of Wilmington, NC; step-sons: Nelson “Scott” Wilson (Debra) and Curtis Wilson (Lynn) all of Dallas, NC; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; sister: Kay Urfer (Lowell ) of Dallas, NC.
Join the family in Celebrating the Life of Mr. Cloninger at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, June 17, 2015 in the sanctuary of Gaston Baptist Church, 516 South Gaston Street, Dallas, NC. Reverend Richard Gaddis will officiate the ceremony. The graveside and committal service will follow at Gaston Memorial Park, 2205 Williamsburg Drive, Gastonia, NC. Active pallbearers are Joshua Wright, Joseph Wright, Jonathan Wilson, Mitchell Cloninger, Morris Hartwell and Joey Rayfield.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm -2:00 pm at Gaston Baptist Church prior to the service.
