Gloria Jean (Stilwell) Hagans

Gloria Jean (Stilwell) Hagans, 71, of Dallas passed away peacefully, at home, surrounded by her loving family, on Monday November 6, 2023. Gloria was born December 9, 1951, in Gastonia, to the late Dorothy Jean (Ellis) Stilwell and Theodore Roosevelt Stilwell, Sr. Gloria was a homemaker and her focus was her family. She was a wonderful daughter, sister, mother, aunt and dedicated grandmother. Her family remembers her homemade biscuits. Gloria’s life positively affected many and she will be greatly missed.

In addition to her parents her husband, Jimmy Hagans, two of her sons – Tony Hagans and Bobby Hagans, precede her in death. Her brothers Ted Stilwell and Dennis Stilwell have also gone on before her.

Left to cherish their memories of Gloria and to carry on her legacy of love are her daughter, Loretta Greene and her husband Alfred Greene of the home in Dallas. Missing their grandmother are her grandsons, Chris Greene and his wife Amy Greene of North Belmont and David Greene and his wife Amanda Greene of Lincolnton. Her legacy includes two great-grandsons – Caleb and Cameron. She also leaves behind her Goddaughter and niece, Amy Phillips and her husband Michael Phillips of Gray, Georgia, Haylie New, Jacob New, Harlie Burnette, Marissa Burnette and Olivia Burnette of Gray ,GA and her sister, Lisa Stilwell and three brothers – Timmy Stilwell, Perry Stilwell and Mark Huntley.

A service celebrating the Gloria’s life will be held at 5:00 pm on Saturday November 11, 2023 at Springwood Free Will Baptist Church, 826 Stanley Spencer Mountain Road, Stanley. Family and friends are invited to view Gloria and greet the family one hour before the service, beginning at 4:00 pm, at the church. Inurnment will be held privately at Gaston Memorial Park at a later date. Pastor Jeff Silver will officiate. He will offer words of encouragement and hope as family and friends celebrate Gloria’s homegoing.
