Curtis Roland Wright

Curtis Roland Wright, 75, passed away March 19, 2015 at Courtland Terrace. He was born May 12, 1939 in Gaston County to the late James Curtis Wright and Mildred (Putnam) Wright. Roland was a member of Dallas Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. He was also a Gideon, avid fisherman and cyclist. He served his country proudly in the U.S. Navy.

Roland is survived by his wife, Laura Walker Wright of Dallas, NC; one son, Jim Wright and his wife, Kristy of Clover, SC; 2 grandchildren, Laura Wright and Cassie Brackett; sister, Gwen Ratchford of Raleigh, NC; best bud, Ray Starnes.

Roland is preceded in death by his first wife, Myrtle Frye Wright, daughter, Vicki Wright and sister, Sylvia Wright Carocappa.

A celebration of his life will be held at 2:00pm, Sunday, March 22, 2015 at Dallas Baptist Church. Presiding will be Pastor Bill Abrams and Rev. Barron Lee. Burial will follow at Hollywood Cemetery in Gastonia.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Saturday, March 21 at Dallas Funeral Home (Carothers) in Dallas.
