Passed away at the Moncton City Hospital on Tuesday, February 13th, 2024 at the age of 84, Mr. Frank Phillips (ne: Francois Philippe) of Dalhousie NB, husband of the late Yvette Phillips and ex-husband of Ruby Ann Firlotte.
Frank was born in Dalhousie on 17 April 1939 son of the late Henri Philippe and the late Victoria Diotte.
He was actively involved in a variety of sports and community clubs throughout his life. He was a retired volunteer firefighter, and until recently was a Volunteer for Meals on Wheels and a proud member of the St. Jean Baptiste Church Choir. He was an avid reader and diehard Montreal Canadiens fan, often traveling with family members to Montreal to see the Canadiens play.
He is survived by his sons Leo-Paul (Mairi) Phillips of Belleville ON, Robert Phillips of Dalhousie NB, David (Natalie) Phillips of Dalhousie NB, step-son Eric (Krista Miller) Pomerleau of Miramichi, and step-daughter Sonia Pomerleau of Stoke and two brothers Tim (Edwidge) Philippe of Dalhousie NB, Jean-Paul (Theresa Caron) Phillipe of Dalhousie NB, and three sisters Ula Arseneault of Dalhousie NB, Geraldine Philippe of Dalhousie NB, Mariange Maybe of Vancouver BC, as well as his grandchildren: Amanda, Christina, Shawn, Robyn, Shannon, and his step-grandchildren Sydney, Courtney Jenny, and Jackson, as well as his many nieces, nephews, and great-grandchildren.
Funeral Service will be held at St. Jean Baptiste Church, Dalhousie, on Wednesday 21 February 2024 at 2 pm followed by a reception at the upstairs lounge of The NBIP Club.
Visitation at the Maher’s Funeral Home, 421 Victoria St., Dalhousie on Tuesday 20 February 2024 from 2 pm to 4 pm and 7 pm to 9 pm.
Donations to the Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
