Born February 21, 1943 in Bass River, Nova Scotia, he was the son of the late Henrietta and Walter Williams.
He is survived by Jean, his wife of 58 years, his children Mark (Lisa), Allan (Gail) and grandchild Devin. He is also survived by brother Stanley (Ollie) and sister Pauline May (John) and predeceased by several other brother and sisters. Al is also survived by his wife’s family Betty Hicks (late Charlie), Debora Nancy Firth, brother-in-law Lou Durette (late Holly).
Al was involved in curling and was a lifetime member of the St. George curling club where he made many lifelong friends.
He worked all his career at various paper mills in, St. George, Jamaica, and Dalhousie. He enjoyed time on the Restigouche River with his pals George, Gerard, Lou and Wayde. He also enjoyed playing golf with his friends and playing darts at the Seniors’ Club.
Many thanks to all the caring staff in the Palliative Care Unit at the Campbellton Regional Hospital as well as Al’s friend of many years, George, who rarely missed a day visiting Al in the hospital. Also thanks to Esther Irving for all her help and support.
Al was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend to many and will be dearly missed.
By Al’s request there will be no visiting or funeral.
