Amanda was born on August 22, 1996 on Whidbey Island, Washington, and raised in Charlotte, North Carolina. She was a beloved daughter, mother, sister, granddaughter, niece, cousin and friend and will be missed beyond measure. At an early age, Amanda grew into a vibrant personality that immediately drew others to her. Her bright smile, energetic nature, and ability to instantly connect with people were apparent even in her childhood.
Her magnetism continued into her teenage years and beyond. By age 17, she had developed an eclectic group of adoring friends who admired her for her constant humor and adventurous spirit. Many more were fortunate enough to gain her friendship as she moved to Atlanta, Georgia for her senior year of high school, and then to Los Angeles, California after graduation. Over the next decade she primarily resided in Los Angeles, though at times returned to the East Coast, spending time with family and friends in Charlotte and Charleston.
Ultimately returning to Los Angeles to reside permanently in 2018, Amanda sought to cultivate meaningful relationships and worked hard to provide herself with a lifestyle of fun and adventure. She traveled extensively over the years, exploring around the world to destinations like London, Dubai, Turkey, Tokyo and more.
Amanda had long dreamt of being a mom and starting her own family, and was thrilled to discover that she was expecting a child in the spring of 2019. On January 26, 2020, Amanda welcomed a beautiful baby boy into the world. August Kaylor-Moulene immediately became the center of Amanda’s universe - his big blue eyes, platinum blond hair, and infectious smile brough instant comparisons to his mother.
Even as a new mom, Amanda was incredibly hardworking and professionally ambitious. On September 1, 2020, Amanda launched her own events company called Passion Picnics. Amanda’s wide network of supportive friends combined with her fiercely determined spirit made the business an immediate success, garnering a following of thousands and booking high profile celebrity clientele. A natural talent and creative, Amanda successfully took on and immediately excelled at a variety of other pursuits over the years, including baking and cake decorating, jewelry making, nail art, floral arrangement creation, and painting.
Amanda was outspoken about her longtime battle with borderline personality disorder, and was working on creating a podcast addressing its unique issues at the time of her death. Despite her own struggles, she remained selflessly concerned with the wellbeing of others. On top of doing everything to be the best mother possible, she was constantly attuned to the needs and emotions of those around her, forever looking for ways to make her loved ones feel cared for, welcomed, and happy. To be with her truly felt like home.
Amanda is survived by her son August Kaylor-Moulene, father Kyle Kaylor, mother Lisa Kaylor, step-mother Niki Kaylor, brother Ryan Kaylor, sister Bri Kaylor, sister Sophie Kaylor, grandparents, uncles, aunts and cousins, along with an extensive group of chosen family that spreads from coast to coast; all of whom loved and adored her and will miss her more than they can express.
A Celebration of Life will be held in Pheonix, Arizona in October. Please contact the family for details.
