 Obituario de Juanita Brown Carpenter
Juanita Brown Carpenter, 70, of Reva, Virginia died Monday, November 16, 2015 at University of Virginia Hospital. She was born to the late Silas Keith and Arlean Aylor Brown, September 27, 1945 in Charlottesville, VA. Juanita graduated from Culpeper County High School in 1963. She married the love of her life, the late James (Jimmy) Fishback Carpenter in 1967 and they lived happily for 19 years together in Reva, Virginia. Juanita and Jimmy co-owned Madison Plumbing and Electric Service until Jimmy’s death in 1986. Juanita then worked various jobs as Para-educator in the Culpeper County School System, Collections Assistant for Culpeper Regional Hospital and Floral Designer at Betty Brown’s Flower Shop. In 1995, Juanita started working for Rappahannock Rapidan Community Services in various positions as a Transit Driver, Transit Supervisor and finally as a Psychosocial Rehabilitation Provider for Visions Clubhouse until she retired in 2010. This is where Juanita found her true passion in working with individuals with mental illness to function within their community. Juanita was a member of Novum Baptist Church where she served as a youth leader, on the Centennial Committee for Novum Homecoming, and hosted many years of the famous “Hoover Road Live Nativity Scene.” She also assisted the youth in our community for many years in Girl Scouts, Cheerleading, 4-H, and FFA. Juanita had a love for arts and crafts and taught many years of ceramic classes in the basement of her home. She enjoyed her beloved pets, working in her flower gardens and goldfish ponds and spending time on her farm. More than anything she loved hosting family and friends in her home where she always kept everyone thoroughly entertained with her stories, jokes, antics and most of all laughter. Juanita is survived by two children: Mechelle Carpenter Jorgensen, husband Jeffrey Jorgensen and Jason Carpenter, wife Jennifer Gough Carpenter. She is also survived by four grandchildren of whom she adored: James Bouldin Jorgensen, David William Jorgensen, Cameron Elizabeth Carpenter and Dylan Keith Carpenter, three very special friends that she considered her sisters, Carolyn Stephens, Edith (Eadie) Anderson and Margaret (Peggy) Carpenter, a host of family and very loving nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to the Novum Baptist Church Building Fund for Landscaping and National Alliance on Mental Illness-Peidmont. A family visitation evening is planned Friday, November 20, 2015, at Clore-English Funeral Home from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a Memorial Service Saturday, November 21, 2015 at Novum Baptist Church at 11:00 a.m.
