Born September 17, 1948, in Washington, D.C., to Charles Burl Kuhn and Nellie Catherine Bobo Kuhn. Joseph served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam and married Patricia “Tish” Coppage in November 1970. He was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend. He loved auto mechanics and was a school teacher for Arlington County School system for 30 years. Resident of Nokesville, Virginia for 38 years. He loved drag racing, restoring automobiles and completed his final “bucket list” with his 1948 Chevrolet Panel Truck which will deliver him to his final resting place at the Culpeper National Cemetery. He devoted his life to his family and his loved ones and never met a stranger.
Surviving Joseph is his wife, Patricia “Tish” C. Kuhn of Amissville, VA, daughter, Stephanie C. Kuhn Carroll and her husband Tony of Brandy Station, VA, son, Joseph “Joey” Kuhn, Jr. and his wife Karen of Catlett, VA, six grandchildren; Wyatt, Garrett, Madison and Sophia of Brandy Station, VA and Hunter and Devon of Catlett, VA, and a niece, Reva Coy of Ashburn, VA. In addition to his parents, his sister, Nancy Wohlfarth, precedes Joseph in death.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in the Precious Blood Catholic Church on Wednesday, January 2, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. with Father Anselme Malonda-Nkuanga conducting the service. Interment will follow in Culpeper National Cemetery, New Grounds.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 1, 2013, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Clore-English Funeral Home.
