Frederick Frank "Fritz" Paul (December 27, 1931 - June 5, 2014). Son of Frank and Berniece, was born in Chemung, New York. Fritz was the eldest of 5. He is survived by brothers, David and Kenneth and sisters, Roberta and Linda. Fritz graduated from Cornell University in 1954 and received a commission in the United States Air Force where he served with honor and distinction until 1976. He married Patricia Thorpe of Elmira after completing the basic navigator school at James Connolly Air Force Base in Harlingen, Texas. A combat veteran of Korea and Vietnam as a navigator, Fritz was the recipient of the Distinguished Service Medal and the Air Medal with 4 Oak Leaf Clusters, among others. He retired as Air Operations Officer and Navigator Instructor at Altus Air Force Base in Oklahoma in 1976. Upon retiring, Fritz and Pat began a second career pursuing his passion for breeding and raising Arabian horses as the owner of Dry Brook Arabians. Recently, Fritz was able to achieve his most coveted accomplishment, having been the owner and breeder of DBA Saiwojski++/, born of his vision, who achieved the prestigious title of United States National Champion Arabian Stallion, Sport Horse in hand. Fritz is survived by his wife, Patricia of Culpeper, Virginia and four children, Jeffery of Dundalk, Maryland along with grandson, Michael. Karen Benson and her husband, Glenn of Wurtsboro, New York as well grand daughter, Carlye. Son Craig and his wife, Shelli and his son Eric, of Warrenton, Virginia. A memorial service will be held at 11AM on June, 16, 2014 at Dry Brook Arabians, LLC 13172 Walnut Lane, Culpeper, Virginia. Dress is casual attire as the service is outdoors. Fritz will be interred with his parents in Chemung, New York. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Fisher House Foundation (www.fisherhouse.org).
